Alarms have been used throughout history to alert and/or
warn people of various situations, e.g., intruders, a fire, gas
leaks, severe changes in weather. Although many complex
alarm systems today are managed by computers and some
even involve AI technology, a simple alarm system requires
a detector of some sort to cause the state of an electrical
circuit to change. When you build this kit, you will be
creating a simple electrical circuit which uses a magnet to
activate the alarm (a buzzer and an LED) and a pushbutton
to reset the circuit. Once finished, you could attach it to the
door of the cupboard where your favourite snacks are kept!
