The textiles industry stood at the centre of the Industrial
Revolution, but many of us haven't given much thought to
the clothes we wear… at least, not in terms of the fabrics
they’re made of and how those fabrics are made. Although
we have massive, computerised machines to manufacture
fabric nowadays, there was a time when weaving by hand
was much more than just a hobby or an art form. With this
fun kit you can build your own mini loom and then weave a
swatch – using the provided pieces of coloured wool in any
sequence of your choosing.
